Information for Referees
Working as a referee for Futsal San Jose
We pay $20.00 per game (by check, about every two weeks), and if you are interested to referee games please contact
our Referee scheduler Rick Domenici <cheetahrick@comcast.net>.
You will also have to signup with USFF
and pay the USFF registration fee of $20 (details will be published after the ref class).
You also need to send in a filled out W-9, you can download it from the IRS website
before you get any checks.
Local rules for Futsal San Jose
As a referee for Futsal San Jose we require that you referee your games
in referee uniform (yellow/red/green stipped referee shirt, black shorts,
black socks with three white stripes) and have a valid Futsal Referee license.
- For U8 please check the Modified Laws of the Game for U8.
- All games start on schedule. If teams are not ready time is deducted from the first half. If a team shows up more than 10 minutes late the game is cancelled.
- Clock keeps running except for timeouts.
- Up to two guest players are allowed provided they have a Futsal San Jose player pass, are of the right age, and you have at most 7 players on your roster for that game.
- If a team is more than 7 goals ahead the score is no longer displayed.
- Ball size: Size #3 for U8 and U10, Size #4 for U12 and up.
- Goal clearance and balls thrown by the goal keeper may not cross the center line without touching either the ground or a player first (USFF Youth Futsal rule).
- Home teams kick off the first half, visiting team the second half. Visiting team selects side for the first half.
- Opponents must be 8 feet away for kick-offs, kick-ins and free kicks.
- no protests will be allowed, except for players that played illegally (age, no player pass, ...). The board will take disciplinary action against Teams/coaches caught cheating in this way.
- Scoring/Standing: 3 points for win, 1 for tie, 0 for loss, -1 per red card, tie breaker: fewest red cards, fewest goals against, most goals for (max of 10/game), otherwise tie stands.
