Schedule

Hard scheduling constraints per team

Here all the hard constraints known are listed (hard constraints are the ones where a team would have to cancel a game if it is scheduled during that time). If you have a constraint that is not listed here send it ASAP to <info@futsalsj.org>. After I confirm your email check that I put it correctly on this page, as this page is the ONLY one I look at when scheduling games. Note: scheduling is a hard problem (NP hard in case you care about such details) and making changes once a schedule has been published involves a lot of work, phone calls, emails, etc.

Scheduling Rules

  • A team gets at most two games per weekend.
  • If a team has two games on the same day, the games are at least one hour apart.
  • If multiple teams are coached by the same head coach the games are scheduled such that the caoch can attend all games.
  • If a team has two games on a weekend, they are usually scheduled for the same gym, one hour apart.
  • If an outdoor team is split into two teams, those teams usually get games scheduled back to back.
  • Each team gets 10 games unless they canceled a game or asked for too many byes.
  • Once a preliminary schedule has been published games are only moved around if a team has to cancel a game, or the scheduler overlooked one of the rules or constraints.
